A Block of Flats

Better Homes for the Many People. That's the Ikea slogan for BoKlok, the housing equivalent of their flat-box furniture. Now avaialable in an English suburb, they are described as factory-built, steel and timber housing units. No, you don't have to buy them at the store and put them together yourself (good thing, as the last bookcase I put together took longer than giving birth). They are constructed on-site and mortgagable. A one-bedroom flat starts at about $200,000. www.livesmarthome.com.
