And now lilacs. My favourite? Perhaps. Something old ladyish about the scent. And yet lovely.

Waiting for Spring

This has been the longest winter ever and I am expecting the first daffodil to show up this week and let us know that it really is over. This little planting (at the corner pub) struck me as an attempt to simulate daffodils. But no.

How can this be? England's spring is weeks ahead of ours. Daffodils and crocus are blooming at Kew! We barely have snowdrops. That is not fair.
